Anthem Hill Skatepark
Las Vegas, NV
Anthem Hills skatepark is
actually located the suburb of Henderson, about 10 minutes SW of downtown
Las Vegas. The Site Design Group park is currently the best skatepark in the
greater Las Vegas area, if not in the entire state of Nevada.
It features a huge flow area, styled after the killer parks in the NW. Depths
vary from 3' to 9'. A kidney pool is also offered. It is not very deep, maybe
7' and about 4' in the shallow, but the transitions are very steep. Not quite
a quick as a real pool but it has a quick pop when you drop in.
Like all Vegas parks, this one is over run with bikes. The park opened in
the fall of 2003 and bike damage is rearing it's ugly head. Some of the damage
could have been prevented by placing steel angle iron on exposed concrete
corners.
Overall it is a fun park. Open from dawn till 12 midnight. Free and unsupervised.
Directions.
Take Eastern Blvd from Las Vegas to Henderson (south). Once in Henderson,
the road will split. Stay to the left (Anthem Pkwy) and follow to the Anthem
Hills subdivision. At the traffic light, turn left onto Reunion and go about
a 1/4 mile. Turn left onto McCullough. You will see the skatepark.
