Ballard Bowl, Seattle Washington
Ballard skatepark, located in the Ballard section
of Seattle, WA may be on borrowed time. The park is in a "temporary location"
on city property. Grindline donated the bowl, which was built in April 2001.
There is an effort to save the skatepark (and most importantly, the bowl)
from being destroyed and the space to be used as a public garden.
The street area is well worn, but the locals don't mind. Behind the bowl is
a 5' mini ramp, which is in good shape. Now the bowl... that thing rocks!
The depth ranges from 5' to 8 1/2'. Pool coping is used for your grinding
pleasure. A must skate while in Seattle!
Free to use, pads recommended. Open dawn to dusk.
Directions: Located in the Ballard section of Seattle. From Downtown Seattle,
take Denny north until it turns into 15th. Follow over Ballard bridge and
turn left on Market. At 22nd (big 5 way intersection) hang a right and head
up 2 blocks, park is on the left.
